Demar is not just any name: it is our name. We are now the third generation down the line since Giuseppe De Marchi crowned his dream of linking his coffee business to his name.
Coffee is part of our lives. We believe strongly in the value of our origins. Since 1968 we have handed down from father to son the art of wood-fire roasting, a precious heritage that gives our coffee its unmistakable flavour and makes us one of the most esteemed historic coffee roasters.
Our people are our business: they are our most important asset; their skill and experience converge in the careful selection of the best qualities of green coffee and the craft of roasting which can never be matched by automated systems.
We work together with passion and dedication to ensure that both our customers and the end users get a high quality product and service.
1968
Giuseppe De Marchi, after leaving Udinese Coffee as a partner, establishes the Torrefazione Demar Caffè in Udine, thus linking his company to his name and his family.
1974
Alberto De Marchi, who had breathed in the heady aromas of his father’s production plants since childhood, takes over his father’s role and the company’s reins.
1982
At the height of a period of great expansion and following the acquisition of several other local brands, the company buys the historic coffee roaster “Eccelsa Caffè”.
1999
Alberto De Marchi focuses on the Demar Caffè brand and, following tradition, brings in his sons Daniele and Stefano to assist him.
2007
A Demar Caffè Veneto retailer is set up near Padua. In the same year Demar Caffè expands beyond national borders and especially into the Austrian market.
2011
From an idea of Alberto De Marchi, the constant humidity thermal silo is born, which eliminates the thermal shock suffered by the coffee beans during transfer to the roaster.
2015
Daniele and Stefano De Marchi, who also grew up in this environment, prepare to give new impetus to growth and innovation.
2017
Torrefazione Demar Caffè Srl renews itself and its brand, while remaining faithful to tradition and its origins.

Since the very beginning we have made quality our greatest competitive advantage. This is why we defend our traditional production method: despite the much longer time needed and the requirement for highly specialised abilities, wood-fired roasting remains an unrivalled art which allows us to deliver coffee with a unique and unmistakable flavour.

To ensure a quality service that lives up to the quality of our product, we deliver regularly every week. We strive to create a rapport that goes beyond the usual customer–supplier relationship, working together to achieve satisfaction for our end users.

How to make a good cup of coffee should not be a secret, but quite the contrary. We believe it is important that our customers know how to enhance the flavour and aroma of coffee. Through the schooling of baristas we aim at spreading the “know-how” so that the end user can fully appreciate our great coffee.
We aim for continuous improvement.
We have never stopped applying innovation in ways that enhance tradition; starting from the creation of the constant humidity thermal silos which eliminate the thermal shock suffered by the coffee during transfer from the warehouse to the roasting machine.
We also have advanced technologies for packaging, which enable us to innovate and streamline the logistics and diversify the products we offer to better adapt to the growing demands of the domestic and international markets.
Looking to the future does not mean forgetting the past.
We are convinced that only craftsmanship can fully express the passion for this work. Rejecting full automation of the production process and continuing to pass on the ancient art of wood-fired roasting is an act of love, defending our traditions and origins.
